NEW EP (s?)

helmsley:

exciting news everyone! i’m starting work on the “my love affair with fredonia music” ep tonight. this will be a three song piece with covers of Rebecca Ryskalczyk, Bogme Elsbree, and The Harlem Renaissance. For now i’m keeping the track list secret.

But…Cais knows what the harlem song will be so if you really want to know, bug him and he’ll tell you.

i’m considering linking this release along with an ep of coldplay songs i reinterpreted. if you don’t like coldplay, thats alright. i hated them then learned to love them. but these tunes are a far reach from the chris martin versions you know so maybe you can enjoy them in this new perspective.

also, does anyone know about copyright law? as long as its a free download and i’m giving them credit, its ok right?

that sounds about right

Whaleplane to attend MACRoCk 2009

Whaleplane is proud to announce we will be taking a trip down to Harrisonburg, VA the weekend of April 3-5 for The Mid-Atlantic College Radio Conference (MACRoCk).

MACRoCk is an annual music conference held at James Madison University every April since 1997 by the university’s student-run radio station, WXJM. It’s sortof a much smaller scale SXSW, and features performances by acts like Algernon Cadwallader, Pirouette, Slingshot Dakota, Antlers, Pattern is Movement, Young Widows, and Dave Davidson’s of Maps and Atlases’ new solo project, Cast Spells.

We will be participating in the Label Expo, wherein independent labels, booking agencies, PR groups, distros, local businesses, and independent vendors selling art and wares all participate in a garage sale style event heralding in what they have new to offer.

My lady and I will be making the drive down, since Mr. Dylan England has a very important art opening that night (the harlem renaissance is playing, flyer soon), and we’ve got a ton of promo material prepared and just made reservations at the super 8.
