The Harlem Renaissance/Ida Sessions Cassplit

One of Fredonia’s newest groups came together accidentally. The Harlem Renaissance, as a name, came about in 2006, when we still lived in dorms, and starting a band with Erick Perrine didn’t require transportation. That band never came to fruition, but its spiritual successor, featuring Cais Jurgens and Dylan England of Longitude, and James Ralls of Respect Mother, is a Kinsella inspired group that features yelled vocals by all three members and a ridiculous rhythm section. The Harlem Renaissance has been playing shows since December ‘08 and is planning on releasing a split casette tape with Buffalo’s Ida Sessions.
Ida Sessions features members of Straight, No Chaser and Grandfather Clock. They play a style of Hardcore that doesn’t neccessarily instigate thrashing the mosh, and have been touring quite a bit recently with a group from Ohio called Antilles. You can catch them in Buffalo on February 20th at Sugar City and in Fredonia on February 21st at The Longitude Global Headquarters, a show that will be a celebration of the release of this legendary cassette.
The cassette features hand drawn artwork and only 20 will be released to the general public. These will get picked up pretty quickly, so keep your eyes peeled for an announcement on their availability!
